Caid Essebsi Sends Condolences to King Philippe of Belgium in Wake of Brussels Attacks

Carthage - President of the Republic Beji Caid Essebsi sent condolences to King Philippe of Belgium in the aftermath of Tuesday's blasts in Brussels.

"It is with great sadness and indignation that I learnt about the terrorist attacks carried out in Zaventem airport and Maelbeek metro station in Brussels and which killed many innocent people," reads the message.

"In these painful circumstances, our thoughts go to the families of victims and the injured," Caid Essebsi said.

Tunisia which was struck many times by terrorism forcefully denounces these despicable attacks and expresses solidarity with Belgium, he highlighted.

These attacks "prompt the international community to step up effort to stamp out terrorism which stands as a threat to security, stability and democracy worldwide."
